This was the first Zelda game. When you start, you have no weapons. There are no cut scenes, or people to give you the background of what the game will be like. You will just see a cave. You walk into the cave, and an old man gives you a sword. You use that sword to defeat the boss in the first dungeon. Once he is defeated, Link will get a triforce peice which Link needs to defeat Ganon and free Zelda. It was a fun game. Even though you barely know what your motive is for getting all of these triforce pieces, that drives you even further to defeat the last boss and finally figure it out.

Ganon stole Zelda, and Link needs to save her. He is the Hero, this is sort of like a super mario game where Mario tries to save peach from Bowser. You get the point. But unlike Mario, Link cannot win his battle against his enemy alone. He needs the power of the triforce to defeat Ganon. Link gets the triforce pieces by defeating bosses in dungeons. Once he gets them all and defeats Ganon, Hyrule is finally safe.
